Cheers to Celebrations: Our Alcohol Policy at HDJ

At The Historic Dallas Jail, we believe in raising a toast to life's special moments. Whether you're celebrating a wedding, shower, or corporate event, we want to ensure that your experience with alcohol is both enjoyable and responsible. That's why we've put together a clear and straightforward alcohol policy to guide you through the process.

To serve beer and wine at your event, all you need to do is hire a licensed and insured bartender. They'll need to provide us with a copy of their Certificate of Insurance (COI) before the big day. This ensures that your guests can sip and savor without any worries.

If you're looking to add liquor to the menu, fear not! You'll still need to hire our bartender, but you'll also need to apply for a one-time Special Use Permit with the state of North Carolina. Don't fret—it's a simple process, just a few pieces of paperwork that need to be submitted 30 days before your event. We'll even provide you with the website to make it a breeze.

Apply for your ABC Permit Here!

In the interest of safety and compliance, we require that all alcohol be kept behind the bar or in the kitchen. This ensures that our professional bartenders can monitor consumption and serve responsibly throughout the event. And of course, we kindly remind all guests that you must be 21 years of age or older to partake in alcoholic beverages. Alcohol service will conclude 30 minutes before your event's end time.

So, let's raise a glass and toast to unforgettable moments at The Historic Dallas Jail—where celebrations are always in good taste! Cheers!
