An intimate North Carolina wedding filled with meaningful moments, family traditions, and a little bit of magic.
Who says an elopement means missing out on all the traditional wedding moments?
Anne Marie and Brennan wanted a wedding day that felt intimate and personal, surrounded by just 10 of their closest family members and friends. But they didn't want to skip the special moments that make a wedding day so memorable.
Their Friday afternoon elopement at The Bridewell in Dallas, North Carolina, was the perfect combination of simplicity, romance, and tradition.
Getting Ready for the Big Moment
The afternoon began with Anne Marie arriving at the venue alongside her mother, maid of honor, and photographer. She slipped into her wedding dress and spent some time capturing beautiful bridal portraits throughout our historic venue.
Meanwhile, Brennan and his father, who served as his best man, got ready in our Speakeasy Lounge.
The couple hadn't seen each other in several days, making the anticipation of their wedding ceremony even sweeter.
Before walking down the aisle, Anne Marie and Brennan exchanged gifts and shared a special first touch. Without seeing one another, they were able to connect and enjoy a quiet moment together before saying "I do."
A Romantic Courtyard Ceremony
When it was time for the ceremony, our team welcomed guests into the private courtyard, where everyone took their seats in front of the iron arbor.
Anne Marie made her entrance escorted by her father, with Brennan waiting at the end of the aisle.
Their ceremony was beautiful and deeply personal, filled with meaningful touches and prayers for their future together.
And when they were finally pronounced married, their closest family and friends erupted in cheers!
It was everything a wedding ceremony should be—joyful, meaningful, and completely focused on the couple.
All the Wedding Traditions, Just on a Smaller Scale
Following the ceremony, everyone gathered for family portraits before heading inside for cocktail hour while the newlyweds finished their couples portraits.
One of our favorite things about intimate weddings is that couples can enjoy all the traditional moments without feeling rushed.
Anne Marie and Brennan did exactly that!
Their celebration included heartfelt speeches from the best man and maid of honor, a romantic first dance, and the traditional cutting of the wedding cake.
With just their closest loved ones in attendance, there was plenty of time for conversation, congratulations, and simply enjoying being newly married.
A Grand Exit for the Newlyweds
As the afternoon came to a close, Anne Marie and Brennan's private car service arrived to whisk them away.
Their family and friends gathered outside for a grand bubble exit, sending the newlyweds off with cheers, smiles, and plenty of bubbles!
And just like that, the happy couple was off to begin their next chapter together.
An Elopement Without Missing the Moments That Matter
Anne Marie and Brennan's wedding is a beautiful example of why we love intimate celebrations.
They didn't need a large guest list or an elaborate reception to have a meaningful wedding day. Instead, they focused on the people, traditions, and experiences that mattered most to them.
From getting ready and exchanging gifts to their courtyard ceremony, first dance, cake cutting, and grand exit, their afternoon included so many of the moments couples dream about.
Intimate by choice, never short on celebration.
Kind Words from the Bride
“We had a very small intimate wedding and this was the absolute perfect venue for it! Victoria and her husband are so sweet and were helpful from day one. They customized a package for us and were so responsive to any need or question. They made sure we had everything we wanted, cued the music, directed our guests, and ensured it all went off without a hitch. So much decor just comes with the place and it’s already charming as is, so all we brought in was flowers. Highly recommended this venue. Victoria and her husband are a dream team and we had the absolute best day! Stress free was what I wanted, and that’s exactly what I got! Cannot say enough good things about the venue or owners.”
